KLM NAMES FIRST AIRBUS A330

TOULOUSE, August 25, 2005 – KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has today taken receipt of its first A330-200 aircraft from Airbus in Toulouse. KLM President & CEO Leo van Wijk and Airbus President Gustav Humbert christened the aircraft in Toulouse, and simultaneously revealed its name. KLM’s A330s will all be named after famous city squares. The first aircraft will be called “Dam – Amsterdam.”
The plane will fly to Schiphol this afternoon, where it will touch down for the first time at its new home base at around
16:00 hours. After its arrival at Schiphol, the finishing touches will be made and various training programs will be rounded off on board. Effective September 1, the “Dam” will be deployed in daily roundtrip service between Amsterdam and Washington.

So far, KLM has ordered six A330-200s from Airbus and will be leasing two further aircraft through ILFC. After the “Dam,” two more aircraft will be delivered this year and utilized for flights to Newark (New York) and Accra in Ghana. The seventh and eighth aircraft will be taken up in the KLM fleet in February and March 2007.
KLM’s A330s will mainly service destinations in
North America, Africa and the Middle East. Additionally, during peak periods, the aircraft will sporadically be deployed on routes to large European cities such as London and Paris.

The A330-200 will gradually phase out KLM’s Boeing 767-300ER equipment. Passenger benefits include a more spacious cabin, offering enhanced service and greater comfort. World Business Class counts 30 seats and Economy Class offers room for 221 passengers.
The A330 will offer the standard World Business Class and Economy Class products, as is the case on board the Boeing 777 at present. Passengers traveling in both classes can relax and enjoy the personal video on demand system, boasting different language options and a highly varied selection of films, videos and audio programs, games, flight tracking, and destination and airport information.

For KLM Cargo, replacing the Boeing 767 with the A330 brings with it the advantage that the new Airbus type can be loaded with standard LD-3 containers, which are currently also used on Boeing 747 and 777, and MD-11 equipment. Depending on the weight of the passengers and baggage on board, the A330 can transport up to 14 tons of cargo.

KLM CITYHOPPER LAUNCHES SCHEDULED SERVICE BETWEEN EINDHOVEN-LONDON HEATHROW

AMSTELVEEN, February 4, 2005 – KLM cityhopper will begin operating scheduled services between Eindhoven Airport and London Heathrow on Monday evening, February 7, 2005. Until recently, these services were operated by Air Exel.

This service will be operated with Fokker 50 equipment Monday through Friday, departing from Eindhoven in the early morning and returning from London Heathrow in the evening. This is ideal for business travelers with appointments in London.

KLM cityhopper earlier launched scheduled service between Amsterdam and Maastricht on February 1, 2005, after its wet-lease contract with Air Exel was terminated earlier than anticipated. Originally, the term of the contract extended until the start of the summer schedule on March 27, 2005. This date was brought forward at the request of Air Exel and after due consultation.

Wednesday December 29th

From April 1, 2005, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will start new daily services between Rotterdam and London City Airport. Flights will operate from Monday to Friday on a "day-return" basis, giving Dutch business travelers the opportunity to depart from Rotterdam in the morning and return the same evening. The service will employ a Fokker 50.

As a result of growing interest in the business market, KLM will also increase the frequency of its Amsterdam-London City Airport flights starting April 1.

Effective January 1, 2005, KLM will suspend flights between Rotterdam and Paris Charles de Gaulle due to decreasing interest in this route. On other routes between the Netherlands and France travel is developing successfully thanks to the KLM-Air France merger

Since December 6, 2004, new destinations in Pakistan and the Middle East have come on stream for KLM:

Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan and Muscat in Oman. Thanks to the cooperation with Gulf Air, KLM can now offer its passengers seats on onward flights from Abu Dhabi, operated by Gulf Air but under KLM's own flight numbers. This so-called codeshare principle will also be offered on Gulf Air flights between Bahrain and Muscat. The Gulf Air flights will connect in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain with KLM's own flights between Amsterdam and these destinations.
